The European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) implemented by the EU-SDGN cohort member Justice, Development, and Peace Movement (JDPM), recently organized a Social Inclusion and Protection Summit in Oyo State.
The summit was focused on advancing the rights and welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), promoting their inclusion in all Nigerian governance.
The event brought together stakeholders, including government representatives, civil society organizations, and advocacy groups, to discuss key issues affecting PWDs in Nigeria. The summit emphasized the importance of ensuring access to public services, inclusive policymaking, and safeguarding the rights of PWDs, particularly through legal frameworks and institutional reforms.
By providing a platform for PWDs to voice their concerns and share their experiences, the summit sought to enhance awareness, build partnerships, and drive actionable change toward creating an equitable society where all citizens, regardless of physical ability, can participate fully.
