In a move towards strengthening youth development strategies and fostering robust engagement with Nigeria’s vibrant youth demographic, the European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria recently organized a retreat in collaboration with the House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development.
The retreat, held in Lagos state, served as a pivotal platform for members of the House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development to convene and deliberate on effective strategies for addressing the diverse needs and aspirations of the nation’s youth population.
Throughout the retreat, attendees engaged in comprehensive discussions and interactive sessions aimed at identifying key priorities, challenges, and opportunities in youth development. Topics ranged from employment and entrepreneurship to education, healthcare, and civic engagement, reflecting the multifaceted nature of youth empowerment initiatives.
The House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development commended the EU-SDGN for its commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives and capacity-building efforts. “Our nation’s youth represent a vital demographic with immense potential to drive socio-economic development and innovation.
