The European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EUSDGN) Programme, implemented by the EU-SDGN cohort member, the Kukah Centre, successfully conducted a validation event for the Political Party Management Toolkit (PPMT). The event took place on 2nd July 2024, at 9:00 am, at the Exclusive Serene Hotel and Suites, Wuye.
This activity, part of Component 3 of the EUSDGN Programme, aimed to provide a robust framework for improving the management and operations of political parties in Nigeria. The validation event brought together political party representatives, civil society organisations, and other key stakeholders to review and endorse the PPMT.
The Political Party Management Toolkit is designed to enhance the internal governance, transparency, and accountability of political parties, ensuring they function effectively and democratically. During the event, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions, providing valuable feedback and recommendations to refine the toolkit.
By validating the PPMT, the EU-SDGN Programme aims to support political parties in adopting best practices and improving their organisational structures. This initiative is part of the broader efforts to rebuild trust in Nigeria’s electoral process and institutions, ensuring that political parties are better equipped to contribute to democratic governance.
