Fact-Checking and Digital Literacy Session for INEC Ekiti

This is a collaborative initiative by DAI/IPC in partnership with the INEC office in Ekiti State to strengthen electoral communication systems and information integrity processes. The engagement will support the establishment of effective communication and fact-checking units, outline key phases of the election calendar, and develop appropriate communication scenarios for each stage of the electoral process. It will also introduce participants to relevant tools for fact-finding, media monitoring, and analysis, while promoting the dissemination of key outcomes to the media and the public.

The initiative aims to enhance the capacity of VEP officials within the Ekiti State INEC office to proactively identify, verify, and counter misinformation and disinformation during electoral processes. The skills acquired will support not only the off-cycle governorship elections but also preparations for the 2027 general elections.
