Able2Run – Electability Press Conference

As part of its commitment to thorough disability inclusion in Nigeria’s electoral processes, TAF Africa, supported by the European Union through its Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN II) programme, is launching the AbleToRun Electability Campaign with a press conference on May 12th, 2026.
This press conference will launch an online campaign, press statements, calling on Persons with Disabilities to avail themselves as candidates for political offices and to join our Political Leadership Programme (PLP) for PWDs mentorship programme.
We will also be speaking directly to political parties, encouraging them to act with increased consideration for persons with disabilities as they set costs for nomination forms and complete preparations for their primaries for the coming election season. We want to deepen public awareness about the capacity of persons with disabilities to lead and govern, increase public acceptance of the visibility of PWDs as competent and viable political leaders.
