Webinar: From Polling Unit to Collation Centre: Understanding Collation and Result Transmission under the Electoral Act

Background: To strengthen awareness of the 2026 Electoral Act, the EU-SDGN Judiciary and Legislature Cluster will convene a public webinar to explain key election-day processes under the new Act. The webinar will provide citizens, civil society organisations, media practitioners, and other stakeholders with practical information on what to expect from the opening of polls through the collation and announcement of results.

 

Objective: To enhance public understanding of election-day procedures, result transmission, and collation processes and the legal framework governing voting, result management, and collation under the Electoral Act 2026, thereby promoting informed participation and confidence in the electoral process ahead of the Ekiti State Governorship Election (which is the first Governorship/Off-Cycle election conducted under the new Act).

 

Target Audience: Voters and citizens in Ekiti State; Civil society organisations; Media practitioners and election reporters; Election observers; Youth and community groups; Political party representatives; Other electoral stakeholders
